Summer Reading

Students going into grades 1st - 3rd are required to read 4 books within their reading levels and take AR quizzes on them. This will be posted as their first grade in reading for the 2017-2018 school year.

Students going into grades 4th and 5th are required to read AR books, of their choice, within their reading level or higher. Students need to acquire 6 points. This will be posted as their first grade in reading for the 2017-2018 school year.

Students going into 6th grade are required to read 1 or 2 AR books, of their choice, 4th grade reading level or higher. Students need to acquire 8 points. This will count as a grade at the first of the school year.

Students going into 7th grade are required to read 1 to 2 AR books, of their choice, 5th grade reading level and higher. Students need to acquire 8 points. This will count as a grade at the first of the school year.

The library will be open for AR quizzing/book loaning starting May 30th every

  • Tuesday mornings from 8:00 am to 1:00pm

  • Thursday afternoons from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm

AR testing will end on July 20th. The program has changed and no one will be allowed to take a summer reading test after July 20th.  You may also read books that you have at home or check out from the public library, as long as they are in the AR system.
